- 0:00Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome.
- 0:05Welcome back to Alien Eyes Photos Industry Talk.
- 0:12All Thanks Media,
- 0:14the introspective inspirational business podcast.
- 0:19And today, I'd like to speak about relationships
- 0:25here in episode eight.
- 0:28Relationships, they're very important.
- 0:35Especially in entrepreneurship and life in general.
- 0:41Business, romantically.
- 0:47And I'm gonna touch a little on each.
- 0:52Let's start with friendship.
- 0:57You know, you want to be there for other people.
- 1:00You want other people to be there for you
- 1:02in a genuine way.
- 1:05Be respectful.
- 1:07You know, have them look out for you
- 1:09when you're not around.
- 1:11You're in different spaces and places.
- 1:14Your name is brought about or your image
- 1:17or your being or your work.
- 1:20You know, we got to look out for each other
- 1:23and really have that open communication
- 1:29you know, with our friends.
- 1:33Especially the ones we really, really call friends,
- 1:35like our best friends.
- 1:38Because that's important because, you know,
- 1:4110 years being good friends, best friends, close friends.
- 1:47Of knowing each other and then became friends.
- 1:53And then one little situation happened
- 1:54and then it just falls apart.
- 1:57So I think having that open communication,
- 2:00especially in the business sector,
- 2:03when friends are business partners
- 2:06and do business together,
- 2:07that's very important, very critical.
- 2:11And I know a lot of people, they do get in business
- 2:15with their friend or their family.
- 2:18Their friend or their family member.
- 2:21And, you know, sometimes it's thought of rocky
- 2:27and not kind of the destined outcome
- 2:33or the desired outcome.
- 2:38But I think communication kind of trumps all of that
- 2:40and having that mutual respect for each other
- 2:43and really having that clear goal collectively.
- 2:51And even relationships, romantic relationships, I may say.
- 2:57You know, you have to communicate.
- 3:01And I could just about say that
- 3:04for any relationship you have,
- 3:06you have to communicate.
- 3:07With business partners, you have to communicate.
- 3:12The people you meet at networking events,
- 3:14you have to communicate.
- 3:17You had a conference, you got to communicate.
- 3:20You're teaching, coaching, you got to communicate.
- 3:23So no matter what relationship it is,
- 3:26communication by far is one of the best,
- 3:31you know, success methods.
- 3:34And I'll say not only success methods,
- 3:39but you know, what keeps the relationship thriving
- 3:45and flowing and good standards
- 3:47and, you know, positive mind states, you know,
- 3:53because you don't want to have negative intentions
- 3:56towards relationships or the people you're around.
- 4:04You know, good thoughts, good experiences,
- 4:07good moments, great moments,
- 4:10magnificent moments, times, all that.
- 4:17And it takes practice, you know.
- 4:21You know, nothing happens overnight or in a week,
- 4:25but that constant communication and, you know,
- 4:29maybe some things change on one person's end
- 4:32that the other person didn't know about,
- 4:34like, I don't like this anymore.
- 4:38And they didn't communicate that to the other person,
- 4:41but they still, you know,
- 4:44think they like this specific thing, whatever that may be.
- 4:52And you know, you have to communicate that on both ends.
- 4:56You know, maybe I'm not into sports anymore.
- 5:01Like, that's just not my thing.
- 5:02I want to be full fledged and invested.
- 5:05So I don't want to hear about sports.
- 5:07I don't want to go to sports games.
- 5:10And I'll talk about me, by the way.
- 5:11I love basketball.
- 5:12I'm a Cleveland Cavaliers,
- 5:14if you really want to be exact.
- 5:18But yeah, I'm a big basketball fan,
- 5:20especially Cleveland sports, any Cleveland team.
- 5:24But, you know, first with the Cavs,
- 5:27then everything else is kind of secondary.
- 5:31But yeah.
- 5:33But what if, like 10 years from now,
- 5:36I may not even care about basketball anymore?
- 5:39You know, I'm older, I'm mature.
- 5:41You know, I'll probably, personally,
- 5:44me, speaking about investing,
- 5:46I might be deep in my investment.
- 5:49You know, I don't have time for sports.
- 5:51So, but also, you know, have that luxury,
- 5:57that hobby, that, you know, that gateway thing,
- 6:01whether it's arts, sports, traveling,
- 6:05podcasting, teaching, whatever that may be.
- 6:09I have that, you know, for you.
- 6:17And I want to touch about business partners.
- 6:24The more, the more you work with someone,
- 6:30the more you communicate with someone,
- 6:34the more you strategize and build,
- 6:38like literally build together,
- 6:44the better it may, the better,
- 6:46I ain't gonna say better it may be,
- 6:47the better it will be.
- 6:50And I've, you know, worked with a lot of different people.
- 6:55Like I said, I've been in various rams of media
- 7:05and collaborated with a lot of different people.
- 7:08A lot of people I could call my business partners,
- 7:11I was in groups with our teams,
- 7:16organizations, one-on-one partners,
- 7:19like we, not maybe legally, but formed a partnership.
- 7:28You know, sometimes it doesn't always work out.
- 7:34Sometimes it doesn't work out
- 7:36in the sense that time just takes its spot,
- 7:46that it's at a standstill,
- 7:47not that the relationship or the partnership
- 7:51didn't work out, but it's just like,
- 7:53the partnership is at a standstill
- 7:55because one person may be deep in their personal journey
- 7:59or the other person may be deep in their personal journey
- 8:02or business or whatever they may be.
- 8:06And it's like, there's no time to kind of come back
- 8:09and do what we did collectively.
- 8:14And that's fine too.
- 8:17Actually, I think that's one of the better ways
- 8:20that I like to kind of separate.
- 8:23You know, we're both thriving,
- 8:25not, you know, argument or disagreement
- 8:28or we're gonna go, you know, do this
- 8:31and not, you know, communicating certain things.
- 8:36So I like when, you know, both parties are thriving
- 8:39and it's like a natural separation.
- 8:42Every now and then, you know, may collab again,
- 8:47but maybe not on that full-throttle partnership level,
- 8:51but, you know, a light collab, you know,
- 8:54something you do together
- 8:57or even just hanging out, catching up,
- 8:59how can we help each other type of thing.
- 9:03So business partners as far as relationships are key.
- 9:11If you, you know, are entrepreneur or business owner
- 9:15and you really want to take it to another level
- 9:20as far as collaboration, you know,
- 9:22you have to start off with a good business partner,
- 9:24especially with networking.
- 9:26You know, y'all bounce off each other and you know,
- 9:28oh, you're doing alley-oops and all that to each other.
- 9:34Sorry, audio has stopped.
- 9:36I'm like, oh, and yeah.
- 9:42But I also wanna touch on like how many mistakes
- 9:49in relationships do you get?
- 9:54Like, what would a friend, if I say,
- 9:59I don't want to do something or, yeah,
- 10:10I don't wanna do something, we do it anyway.
- 10:12Like, that's your thing.
- 10:14That's not my thing as far as like going to
- 10:21a hockey game and I don't care about hockey.
- 10:25I'm just doing it because you're my friend,
- 10:29but we never get to do what I wanna do type of thing.
- 10:33So, or if, you know, do something they don't like
- 10:39or agree with, how many times is too many?
- 10:47I mean, actually they say two is too many,
- 10:52but that's also something to think about.
- 10:55We're not just friends, we're all your relationships.
- 11:03And I know we're not all perfect.
- 11:05You know, I'm not perfect.
- 11:06I struggle with a lot.
- 11:08You know, still struggle with a lot.
- 11:10I mean, I struggle with communication
- 11:12and you know, the biggest thing I speak about
- 11:14is communication and you know, me being an introvert,
- 11:18I love my solo time, my quiet time, my downtime,
- 11:22just my inner thoughts.
- 11:24I'm always thinking about a lot,
- 11:26always a lot on my mind.
- 11:28You know, I don't really have much time to myself,
- 11:30get that time, I love taking that time
- 11:33and being in that time.
- 11:35And I think the biggest relationship
- 11:37you should have ever is with yourself.
- 11:40You know, that self-love, that self-gratitude,
- 11:42that self-expression is big
- 11:45and that would get you far, very far in life.
- 11:49You know, that self-confidence, that self-worth,
- 11:53that self-image, what you see
- 11:57and what you think all the time about yourself
- 12:01usually becomes yourself over time.
- 12:09And one of the things that I'm learning
- 12:11with my self-love journey
- 12:15was approaching of almost 10 years now,
- 12:20more so five, one more of a heavier level,
- 12:23but closer to.
- 12:28It looks different each day.
- 12:32It really, really looks different each day.
- 12:37And sometimes I look in the mirror,
- 12:44it's like the only thing I wanna do is find myself.
- 12:53And to be honest, most days it's harder to find yourself.
- 13:03Some days you're right there,
- 13:05like boldly right there.
- 13:09But each day you treat yourself with love,
- 13:13treat yourself with respect.
- 13:17You know, what fuels you, what desires you,
- 13:19feed yourself that.
- 13:21Remember your purpose, your motivation, your motives.
- 13:26Sometimes you cannot let emotion get in the way,
- 13:28especially in business.
- 13:31No, there's no emotions with numbers.
- 13:35Emotions don't have emotions.
- 13:38These robots don't have emotions,
- 13:41but you do.
- 13:43And the biggest and the greatest relationship
- 13:48you would have is with yourself, you yourself.
- 13:52And I have an affirmation track I would link.
- 13:56We're actually gonna link it to all our episodes,
- 13:58because I think it's just monumental and powerful.
- 14:01I will start talking about it more.
- 14:03And also release additional affirmation tracks
- 14:07upon request.
- 14:09You know, if I get the request,
- 14:10I will put it out faster.
- 14:12But of course, if I don't hear any feedback
- 14:14and then they're satisfied with the one
- 14:17I'm about to present to you now,
- 14:18then that's fine as well.
- 14:21But you know, definitely give me some feedback
- 14:24if you love these affirmations,
- 14:25if you want affirmations in a specific realm
- 14:31or about something in particular.
- 14:35Definitely let me know the feedback.
- 14:37I'm open to requests.
- 14:38I'm an artist at heart.
- 14:41I have a music background, poetry,
- 14:45a little music production.
- 14:47And now I'm into more of the visual space
- 14:50with photography, a bit of photography,
- 14:54video production and podcasting.
- 14:57Kind of have my feet a little bit of everything.
- 15:02Author.
- 15:04Like the list goes on as far as that artistry.
- 15:08I'm a writer at heart.
- 15:11I love reading.
- 15:13And those things are reflected upon my spirit.
- 15:18I love a good book, especially a good business book.
- 15:22Things about mindset.
- 15:25And that's what I reflect to my audience.
- 15:29But going back to the affirmations,
- 15:34when I talk about being
- 15:38in the greatest relationship,
- 15:42you are in a relationship with yourself, literally.
- 15:47And people forget that first because one is a number.
- 15:54Zero is not.
- 15:56One is, and you are one.
- 15:59So what relationship do you have with yourself?
- 16:04But I always say, be good to yourself.
- 16:12Be gentle with yourself.
- 16:16Be blessed with yourself.
- 16:20Like you really have to do these things.
- 16:24Really take time for you and that self-maintenance.
- 16:31And I'm a big believer of inner peace and affirmation.
- 16:37Never let anyone disrupt your inner peace.
- 16:41Never ever let anyone,
- 16:43not even yourself, disrupt your inner peace.
- 16:48Inner peace is everything.
- 16:49And I say, never ever let anyone,
- 16:54not even yourself, disrupt your inner peace.
- 16:57Because sometimes us, ourselves,
- 17:01can disrupt our inner peace, our mental mind state,
- 17:07and introduce and attract negative thoughts
- 17:11out of nowhere.
- 17:13When they don't have to be there.
- 17:16All these negative emotions.
- 17:20I try not to let the outside world affect me too much.
- 17:24I know a lot of things going on in politics
- 17:26and the presidents and the different parties
- 17:31and then inflation and it's just,
- 17:34you know, the celebrity drama, relationships.
- 17:41It can even be family drama, work drama, you know?
- 17:48It's, it gets difficult because outside of self,
- 17:52you know, nexus, you know, my children and my daughters.
- 17:57Then, you know, relationships and family
- 18:03and then that next tier friends
- 18:08outside of the best friends.
- 18:12Then associates and then just the world in general.
- 18:15I do care for the world, but I care for myself first.
- 18:22So if I can find peace in myself,
- 18:27before I, you know, hit that something's gonna go wrong
- 18:31or negative, you know, I listen to myself.
- 18:36Like, I could have avoided it.
- 18:38I felt it in my body, my mind and spirit
- 18:41that something is about to go wrong.
- 18:45Now I listen to myself.
- 18:46Now I'm dealing with a situation that's ruckus
- 18:51and just a disaster and chaos.
- 18:54And it's taken me out of my hookup,
- 18:56my positive mind state, my positive being, my energy.
- 19:01Now I'm dealing with this.
- 19:03I really could have been dealing with myself
- 19:05and my energy and my peace and growing myself
- 19:07and watering myself and letting myself boom
- 19:10and blossom and, you know,
- 19:14grow the way I need to grow.
- 19:16And so the trawl is a tree that I could be.
- 19:21Plant it in the ground and the earth.
- 19:25You have to look at yourself as a tree.
- 19:28Water and nurture yourself.
- 19:31Stand firm in the ground, in the soil.
- 19:36Continue to water yourself, continue to grow,
- 19:38continue to learn, continue to communicate.
- 19:44It takes time.
- 19:45It does, it really does.
- 19:49But also we're relationships.
- 19:52I think about the number eight
- 19:53and that's why I wanted this episode to be number eight.
- 19:58I hope you enjoyed it.
- 19:59If you like it, you know, let me know the feedback.
- 20:03I really want to tailor these episodes, you know.
- 20:09First off, they're my, you know, inner journal,
- 20:15inner entrepreneur journal.
- 20:17You know, deep diving in my mind
- 20:20and how I take it, how I approach things.
- 20:24But yeah, the number eight, it's like, you know,
- 20:27it's continuous, it's affinity.
- 20:29That's how I think about relationships
- 20:31and it's constantly touching each others.
- 20:34You know, that figure eight and like skating
- 20:36is always all touching each others
- 20:39on a big curved oval.
- 20:42Oh, yeah, this is episode eight
