4. 0:14I just want to talk about getting better.
5. 0:20Yes, get better.
6. 0:23You know, I recently got done editing
7. 0:25a photo gallery for a friend's event.
8. 0:27And if anyone knows professional editing
9. 0:33or does professional editing,
10. 0:36you know how much time, patience,
11. 0:39and constant tweaking that is
12. 0:41and how much it takes out of you.
13. 0:45You know, upon delivering the gallery days later,
14. 0:48I receive a message that the photos cannot be used
15. 0:52for marketing and requested a partial refund.
16. 0:57You know, I was taken back.
17. 0:59I had to look back at the photo gallery
18. 1:02like, am I tripping?
19. 1:04Because I know I took some great photos.
20. 1:08So, hmm, so yeah, I looked back at the gallery
21. 1:13and, you know, responded back in a very detailed message.
22. 1:19No, granted, there was no call prior to the event,
23. 1:23which was my mistake.
24. 1:25Typically with last minute requests,
25. 1:27it is hard to squeeze in that call or meeting
26. 1:31before the event.
27. 1:33And this is why I encourage everybody to book early
28. 1:37and we can schedule all pre-production calls,
29. 1:41you know, map out the expectations,
30. 1:44the timeline of the event,
31. 1:46what equipment I may need,
32. 1:48where I may be positioned,
33. 1:50you know, that's very critical details that's needed.
34. 1:55You know, so it's hard, you know, last minute,
35. 1:58the day before, the day of, you know,
36. 2:01especially someone in media,
37. 2:02it's hard for us to prepare.
38. 2:06You know, unless we've done it, you know,
39. 2:07multiple times and, you know,
40. 2:09same reoccurring event, same thing,
41. 2:11but that's different.
42. 2:13But, you know, something new, fresh,
43. 2:17you know, you gotta have that pre-production meeting
44. 2:20and carve out that time before
45. 2:22that the last minute works.
46. 2:26Get better, you know, support it.
47. 2:33And we're still friends,
48. 2:35we know business is business,
49. 2:37we will not let our businesses get in between us.
50. 2:41Yet this struck fire under me.
51. 2:45I said to myself, get better.
52. 2:48I have to get better.
53. 2:51As a marketer that specializes in visual media,
54. 2:55I have to get better.
55. 2:57I have to be a better marketer.
56. 2:59A better photographer, a better producer,
57. 3:01a better communicator, a better leader, a better coach.
58. 3:05I have to get better.
59. 3:10I'm saying all of this to say,
60. 3:14do not let difficult moments ruin your relationships
61. 3:17with your family, friends, good business partners,
62. 3:21spouse, even yourself.
63. 3:25Do not let it ruin what is near to your heart.
64. 3:31Learn how to take frustration, doubt, shame,
65. 3:35negative emotions and turn it into a game.
66. 3:39Something positive, something positive.
67. 3:46Change it into something positive.
68. 3:50And see me, I did two things.
69. 3:53Documented the situation so I could reflect
70. 3:56on what I did and what I'm doing.
71. 3:59Hence this podcast episode.
72. 4:02Then too, I turned that challenge and situation
73. 4:09into vitamins for my growth.
74. 4:12Get better.
75. 4:13And I will continue to get better with all I do.
76. 4:18I pledge to myself and the world.
77. 4:22I will get better and continue to get better.
78. 4:26Continue to elevate.
79. 4:28Demonstrate your talents, don't rate.
