- 0:00Welcome, welcome, welcome.
- 0:04This is day eight of the social media sabbatical.
- 0:12My social media sabbatical.
- 0:16Our social media, for some, for some,
- 0:19I can't speak for everyone,
- 0:21but I hope you took this seriously
- 0:24and joined and really stayed all social media,
- 0:29not even checking your emails
- 0:30and see if you got a notification or a new message
- 0:33or comment or new like, new follow, nothing.
- 0:40Don't even think about the platform.
- 0:42Delete it off your phone.
- 0:44I surely took it off my phone, the home screen,
- 0:48all that good stuff.
- 0:49Well, I took it off the home screen.
- 0:51I didn't delete it because I knew I was gonna need it
- 0:54again if I know if I delete something,
- 0:56I take so many photos and videos,
- 0:59a lot of BTS, a lot of quick clips.
- 1:02When I'm just out, like I'm out now walking,
- 1:05I see deer, I gotta pull my phone out,
- 1:08be creative, give some pictures of deer
- 1:11while they're posted up behind the greenery,
- 1:16the trees, the branches, the bushes
- 1:19and all the other plants that's in here in nature.
- 1:24Yeah, kind of cutting grass,
- 1:27the Metro Park grass though.
- 1:29You may hear lawn mower in the background
- 1:34as they ride around and birds chirping
- 1:37and different insects and stuff flying around.
- 1:40But today I wanna talk about digital image,
- 1:45your digital image.
- 1:47And as we continue to talk about social media,
- 1:51your perfect digital image on social media.
- 1:57So I know a lot of people try to emulate
- 2:06or keep up with the Joneses as to say,
- 2:10keep up with society, what they see in the media,
- 2:15what they see online, social media,
- 2:20trying to keep up with the beauty trend, fads.
- 2:25Oh, this woman has long legs
- 2:29and curved shaped body, nice chest, beautiful,
- 2:38make up to the core, have pads
- 2:42and stuff wrapped around her to the core.
- 2:48But take the picture, post it online,
- 2:52a thousand plus likes and comments.
- 2:57And another young girl sees that and says,
- 3:00dang, I wanna be like that, I wanna emulate that.
- 3:03And they post this picture and they break out
- 3:09and pimples and just clothes not the same
- 3:13as the other ladies clothes and they compare themselves.
- 3:19But are we really showing up as our authentic self?
- 3:24The unfiltered self, this is who I am.
- 3:28And as we talk about that,
- 3:32it's the same for our business, our brands,
- 3:35our image as an entrepreneur, a business owner,
- 3:39creative, are we really being authentic to ourselves?
- 3:46Now, of course, you know, don't post trash,
- 3:50but let's just be real.
- 3:54This is what we're doing.
- 3:58And I know as we are in the age of AI,
- 4:01there's gonna be a lot of that trying to become perfect
- 4:05or have this perfect image online
- 4:09and all the picture filters, makeup, jaw,
- 4:16then it like is tightening, it's so much.
- 4:21And now that we have even better AI in this world
- 4:24that we live in here in 2025
- 4:27and it's continually increasing each month
- 4:30and it's different tools and stuff
- 4:32that's coming out rapidly, it's hard to keep up.
- 4:36Now it's like the, almost like the information age,
- 4:40how it just came out of rapid
- 4:42and everything was like very open.
- 4:47And now it's the same with technology, AI,
- 4:50as it rapidly grows, how are we gonna show up
- 4:56as our authentic self when we could be perfect
- 4:59by touch of a button in a few clicks?
- 5:04I really wanna know, we gotta be our authentic selves
- 5:07and that's what's gonna stand out.
- 5:11You know, we're seeing these AI images with four fingers,
- 5:15six legs, three arms, two heads, missing the nose.
- 5:25It's not perfect, it's showing up
- 5:27as the best thing it could do, but it tried.
- 5:30It just took an educated guess.
- 5:33Best off what you told it.
- 5:35It's not gonna always be right,
- 5:37it's not gonna always be perfect.
- 5:42This has been doing some good work and also bad work,
- 5:48but it showed up as its authentic self technology.
- 5:54Why can't you show up as your authentic self?
- 6:00And I know it's hard and I know sometimes
- 6:04we chase the likes, the comments, the engagement,
- 6:11the money, the intention, but whoever is meant to see it
- 6:21will see it, whoever is looking for it will look for it.
- 6:26But you still have to be you, do you?
- 6:30Your business, your brand has to do it
- 6:34and you have to make sure of it.
- 6:37Now image is important, don't get me wrong.
- 6:40I'm a visual marketer, I'm an event photographer,
- 6:47I'm a video producer, it's very important.
- 6:58Very, very important.
- 7:01But when you mix that with authenticity
- 7:04with your authentic self, it just magnifies to have seen.
- 7:14Not your perfect image, but your best image.
- 7:18Your best image of you in this rare and raw moment.
- 7:26No makeup, no filters.
- 7:29I don't care if you just roll out of bed
- 7:31and turn some lights on,
- 7:33you know the lights is gonna help beautify you.
- 7:36Give us some good soft light, take a photo.
- 7:41Of course clean yourself up,
- 7:42watch your face at least, clean yourself up.
- 7:47But you don't have to get all dolled up, makeup.
- 7:52And for us men, we don't gotta put on our best outfit
- 7:56that we can't just wait to bring out.
- 8:00No, let's show up as our authentic self.
- 8:05Make it look good, feel good,
- 8:09but show up as our authentic self.
- 8:12Let's not get perfect, let's do it above average at least.
- 8:17Let's go for good or great,
- 8:23but above average at least.
- 8:28And most of the time strive for the best.
- 8:32The best way you can look,
- 8:34the best image you can capture, deliver,
- 8:40it's just a video.
- 8:43Your best image, your best effort,
- 8:46but let's not make it perfect
- 8:48and keep up with everyone else you see online
- 8:52or any other business you see online
- 8:55and try to copy and compare yourself like,
- 8:57oh, they got a million views and this and this.
- 9:01Just don't stay in your own lane,
- 9:05just try to get better.
- 9:06And when I say best, I mean the best of yourself,
- 9:10your best self.
- 9:12Keep doing what you have to do.
- 9:16Like, I barely,
- 9:20I used to barely post myself on my social media.
- 9:25I'm like, oh, I gotta serve my clients,
- 9:27I gotta show my portfolio, show images, this and that.
- 9:30Now, it's more of a personal brand,
- 9:34not lifestyle, but more personal.
- 9:38Show my personality as a photographer and content creator.
- 9:45And all these other things, but I decided,
- 9:52I'm like, I'm just gonna post myself,
- 9:55my authentic self, my personality,
- 9:58and also inspire and educate on the way.
- 10:02And that's even more reason to the birth of the podcast
- 10:06and it helped me just get a lot of thoughts
- 10:10that are always having my mind out.
- 10:13And people say I always had these good things to say
- 10:15or I gave them great advice.
- 10:18So I'm like, well, let's make it a win-win.
- 10:21It's giving me time to even talk to myself
- 10:24as in the sense of, again, getting my thoughts out,
- 10:29especially as a business coach
- 10:33to help a lot of creative entrepreneurs
- 10:37or creatives that wanna become entrepreneurs
- 10:40and help with that transition.
- 10:42But I know not all the time I used to keep up
- 10:53with my self-image as far as comparing with the Joneses.
- 11:01That's to say, I wouldn't even post me,
- 11:09but when I did post me,
- 11:14I didn't really compare myself or say,
- 11:18oh, I wanna be like them,
- 11:19but I knew kind of like we are when we're young,
- 11:26we kind of fabricate the story
- 11:29or make something interesting just so we could post
- 11:33and be like, get the wild,
- 11:34like the highlight of our life,
- 11:36like the best moment of the day,
- 11:39oh, we're on top of the hill,
- 11:41but nobody posted when they was on the bottom of the hill
- 11:44or when they was going through the pain and the legs
- 11:47and it was burning,
- 11:48but nobody wanna take a picture of that.
- 11:51People love the process, the journey,
- 11:53and that's what I'm documenting here at the journey
- 11:55and giving it to you all so you can see the process.
- 12:02How is it really done?
- 12:04Anybody okay here at the top?
- 12:07And the picture looks nice, yeah, it's perfect.
- 12:10That's the highlight, oh, the championship,
- 12:13but what about the hard work you put in practice
- 12:15long nights, barely sleeping sometimes
- 12:18because you think it's on your mind
- 12:20because you want to be the best self you can be.
- 12:31What's going on?
- 12:34So remember, always show up as your authentic self.
- 12:41Keep being authentic, visual image
- 12:45and digital image on social media.
- 12:50It doesn't have to be perfect,
- 12:51it just has to be your best effort, your best self.
- 12:54Show up, unfiltered, without makeup, you're beautiful,
- 13:01you're handsome, you're great, you're good looking.
- 13:09And to all the ladies, you are pretty
- 13:13because it's mostly, y'all are effective the most,
- 13:18especially young ladies.
- 13:19And as I have two daughters,
- 13:21I'm especially speaking to them
- 13:23as they're growing in social media age,
- 13:25especially with the AI.
- 13:27You are beautiful, you are pretty,
- 13:31you are great, you are divine.
- 13:35Yeah, I'm just gonna wrap up this vlog
- 13:39because I got to edit before I head out on this trip.
- 13:48And then I know I said my social media sabbatical
- 13:52is ending the same day I go out of town.
- 13:58So, you know, I network and also take pictures,
- 14:04get some video.
- 14:06I said, yeah, that'd be a perfect time
- 14:08for me to get it back,
- 14:10for me to come back alive on social media.
- 14:16But I kind of been learning this journey
- 14:19and also creating for the podcast,
- 14:21just building, being consistent,
- 14:24being more productive, being more focused.
- 14:27Like I said, I have a lot of things to work on,
- 14:30a lot of things to build.
- 14:32I got to finish putting this book together for you all.
- 14:35It is gonna be amazing.
- 14:36I can't wait to read it myself
- 14:39because me, as I just talk this out,
- 14:41and it's just pure thought.
- 14:44You know, I scripted maybe two of the days,
- 14:50but this whole process just been from my heart,
- 14:53just pure experience.
- 14:55Again, just practicing with my communication
- 15:00and articulating my thoughts effectively.
- 15:04And the more I do it, the better I get.
- 15:06So I definitely want to practice and exercise that muscle.
- 15:14I am power walking to give you all a lecture.
- 15:20But this is all about the perfect image,
- 15:25your perfect digital image.
- 15:29You already good looking.
- 15:31Let's just leave it at that.
- 15:34All right, about to end this walk.
- 15:37So I can head back and start editing before this trip.
- 15:41And I'll be back on social media soon.
- 15:45Maybe another couple more days.
- 15:49The 10 days is over with, so I will be back soon.
- 15:55I will update everybody,
- 15:59and then I might be gone again.
- 16:02Gone again in 60 seconds.
- 16:06But I appreciate you all for tuning in.
- 16:09This has been amazing.
- 16:11Thank you all for listening.
- 16:14Keep going.
- 16:16This has been amazing.
- 16:17And I hope you feel the same.
- 16:21All right, this is photographer Jackson,
- 16:23and Steve Jackson of Alien Eyes Photos Media.

- 16:52that's me, Brianna Casanova of Overflow Studios.
- 16:58So definitely check out Overflow Studios.
- 17:01It'll be in the show notes.
- 17:04But yeah, creator frequency is our creative journey,
- 17:08which is behind the scenes, our life.
- 17:11Again, that motivation and continue to do
- 17:14what you gotta do as we're consistent in all we do.
- 17:18And we've been posting,
- 17:20well, since I've been on the sabbatical,
- 17:22she been posting all the content.
- 17:25But yeah, we post all our behind the scenes
- 17:29of just us going through it,
- 17:33whether that's good or bad.
- 17:34We're showing up as our authentic selves.
- 17:37And even in Atlanta, we had a conference
- 17:40so we can't bring much stuff.
- 17:45But just being in a hotel,
- 17:47creating content at the end of the day,
- 17:50after this long conference,
- 17:55and having to use some equipment.
- 18:01Props are replacements, I guess I could say, of props.
- 18:07Because we didn't have all our tools.
- 18:09We can't lug around our big equipment.
- 18:12So we had to use ironboard, the iron itself,
- 18:16and a wall, just get creative in what we can use
- 18:21to help us out as we film and create.
- 18:26But just showing the whole process,
- 18:28not just the final product, that's what to say.
- 18:33So really showing our authentic selves,
- 18:35showing up anyway.
