- 0:01Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome back to Alienize Photos Industry Talk.
- 0:10And this one is for the creative entrepreneurs.
- 0:14So if you are creative or if you're an entrepreneur or if you're both a creative entrepreneur
- 0:24or inspired to be a creative entrepreneur or have no idea what that is, this episode is for you.
- 0:33This is your host, photographer Jackson, Steve Jackson of Alienize Photos Media
- 0:38and host of Alienize Photos Industry Talk.
- 0:43Welcome if this is your first time.
- 0:46But this is for creative entrepreneurs or anyone of interest.
- 0:50You know, one may say, what is a creative entrepreneur?
- 0:58It's a creative, it's an artist who loves to create, freely create,
- 1:07experiencing creating, love creating, passion about creating,
- 1:13and creative problem solving, who is also an entrepreneur,
- 1:20who has a sense of business, who has a sense of entrepreneurship, vision,
- 1:30executing and bringing services or products to the market.
- 1:40But putting it together, you're creatively problem solving, a creative problem solving.
- 1:49So, as an entrepreneur, you problem solve, you troubleshoot, you put out fires,
- 1:56you're managing as a creative, using your imagination, your vision,
- 2:07your creative mind and talents and capabilities, artistic expression
- 2:13to come up with new ideas, be innovative, and to fuel your creative problem solving.
- 2:23Now, I've been a creative most of my life, if not all.
- 2:36That's probably the longest running thing and fuel in my body
- 2:40that I've been a creative more than anything,
- 2:43more than me playing basketball at a young age, weather, fish,
- 2:49maybe even walking maybe, because I was probably, you know,
- 2:54before I was walking, before crawling, I was probably wiggling,
- 2:58dancing to music or something.
- 3:01So, I would say, yeah, it's being creative, using my imagination.
- 3:08It's the longest running bone in my body that fuels my soul,
- 3:13that's been with me forever.
- 3:16All the other bones and structures of my body had to find their way.
- 3:21They'd been there, but they didn't find their way.
- 3:28And I love being a creative.
- 3:31I've done poetry, I've done music, even dabbled in painting a little bit.
- 3:38Not the best, like my other things that I'm a part of,
- 3:42like writing and filming, photography, music, poetry.
- 3:48But, you know, when I paint, I know that's strictly for me.
- 3:57I may get back into painting, I may even have some for sale,
- 4:04but most of my life I was a writer, just writing, writing stories,
- 4:15writing poems, writing books, writing music, choruses,
- 4:24unofficial scripts, ideas, in a sense, speeches and speeches to myself.
- 4:35And now that I'm older, I remember just looking at myself in the mirror,
- 4:41like, man, you've been through a lot.
- 4:44You've been through a tough time.
- 4:47You continue to push and through.
- 4:50You continue to push through, man, you're really doing it.
- 4:54And you're showing up for you.
- 4:55I'm talking to myself in the mirror, you know?
- 4:59I'm like, man, one day I'm going to be a speaker.
- 5:01One day I'm going to write speeches and, you know,
- 5:04help other people write speeches and deliver their speech.
- 5:09Just being that creative mind, because I was already doing music,
- 5:13not performing so much, but, you know, do performances here and there.
- 5:21I remember talking to myself in the mirror and really having that honest conversation,
- 5:31that tough conversation, a candid conversation that I needed, you know?
- 5:42And I'm glad I had that moment with myself, you know,
- 5:45myself in the mirror, that reflection, that reflecting time.
- 5:50And, you know, years later I end up included in my song,
- 5:55Lifetime, Lifetime by Alien iPlayer, as Alien I-P-L-A-Y-A, Alien iPlayer.
- 6:05Check out the song, Lifetime, if you want to hear it.
- 6:09You know, I had a song, you know, kind of wrote it coming out of depression, you know,
- 6:20doubt, self-doubt, and just a lot of negativity around me.
- 6:27But I found the way to make it positive and reflect on it, too, you know?
- 6:32Just being honest, like, you know, who can you go to?
- 6:40And then, you know, even in the bad moments, you know, you got to find the good.
- 6:47Boo-hoo, they need a chicken soup.
- 6:51So it's the last verse.
- 6:53I could give you that hint if you want to listen to the whole song.
- 6:56It's the last verse.
- 6:58So check out the last verse of Lifetime by Alien iPlayer.
- 7:05But, you know, creative entrepreneurs, we solve problems creatively, you know,
- 7:12using our artistic expressions to create and bring content to the market.
- 7:25And then I may add, for me, you know, I create visual solutions for clients.
- 7:34You know, marketing, coaching them, and especially on the visual side.
- 7:40How do you want to position yourself?
- 7:44So I know with myself, I had to get creative in how I market myself,
- 7:55because I'm not a traditional social media person.
- 8:00Like, maybe back then when I was like 15, 16, you know, having the time and the energy.
- 8:10But, you know, running a business, operating a business, being a partner in other businesses,
- 8:16and, you know, groups and collaborations, projects, the time isn't the same.
- 8:26The energy isn't the same.
- 8:28I still let it spend time with myself and to myself.
- 8:33One of those people that just need that pure silence, that time with yourself,
- 8:40that pure silence, you know, you know, light.
- 8:47It don't have to be pure darkness, but maybe a candle or something, candle or two.
- 8:55But just silence.
- 8:57I'm not a fan of, you know, headphones and everything.
- 9:06You know, frequencies and different things, even though I loved it and enjoyed it,
- 9:13especially when I did music, but, you know, if I do have music on,
- 9:18it's like meditation music, elevator music, frequencies, you know, white noise.
- 9:28But I've even been trying without it, just pure silence, even going to sleep,
- 9:34just pure silence, no, you know, background music.
- 9:39I may go back, you know, I'm sure if I feel a big difference,
- 9:47but, you know, having that quiet time, the isolation, the isolation from the world
- 9:56and really just, you know, being my own best friend,
- 10:00having that time with myself like I did in the mirror, you know,
- 10:06I got to have these sit downs with myself.
- 10:10It's quiet time to myself and my thoughts and my head
- 10:13and even just to relax, you know.
- 10:18I don't think a lot of people take that time to rest and relax nowadays.
- 10:24Everybody want to be on a hundred miles per hour all the time, you know.
- 10:31But if you can do it, you know, go ahead and do it.
- 10:35Don't let me discourage you, but also if you're not able to,
- 10:41just be realistic with yourself, you know.
- 10:43I'm always, you know, encouraging the will and the talent
- 10:48and the push through, the breakthrough,
- 10:51but also be real with yourself and, you know,
- 10:54I'm an optimist, but I'm also a realist, you know.
- 11:00I'm probably 55 optimists, 45 realists.
- 11:09I'm very grateful for the journey that I've been on.
- 11:13As I continue to document my journey, my entrepreneur journey,
- 11:16my creative entrepreneur journey,
- 11:20I thank the ones that have been a part of my creative journey

- 12:21first starting my entrepreneur journey, especially as a creative.
- 12:27You know, as a creative, how I should think or how I should have thought
- 12:30or how I should have navigated.
- 12:36And, you know, continue this elevation with me, you know.
