  1. 0:01Welcome, welcome, welcome to Alienize Photos Industry Talk
  2. 0:07with your host, photographer Jackson, Steve Jackson
  3. 0:11of Alienize Photos Media.
  4. 0:15Alienize Photos Media, portfolios.
  5. 0:18Thinking about portfolios as I'm adding
  6. 0:22another high school to my speaking portfolio.
  7. 0:28I had the honor to
  8. 0:31be alongside with my Pull Up Experience counterpart,
  9. 0:37the host with the most, Mr. Brandon Gates,
  10. 0:42the head over of Pull Up Experience,
  11. 0:45the Pull Up Experience, TPUE,
  12. 0:48as we are a collective of entrepreneurs
  13. 0:52and we help other entrepreneurs and business owners
  14. 0:56and also non-profits elevate
  15. 0:59your entrepreneur elevation group here in Cleveland, Ohio
  16. 1:04as we visited Ohio School, Euclid, Ohio.
  17. 1:10Shout outs to Euclid High School.
  18. 1:13As he had that honor to speak
  19. 1:17and I kinda put some two cents in
  20. 1:20but I captured the moment,
  21. 1:23captured the moment he presented.
  22. 1:27Like soon we got to the students,
  23. 1:30we had to basically present no setup, no nothing like,
  24. 1:34all right, they're all yours.
  25. 1:36So, you know, we had to run and gun
  26. 1:38and definitely pivot.
  27. 1:40If anybody know the Pull Up Experience,
  28. 1:42we are the artists of pivoting.
  29. 1:46We know how to pivot on a die and we do each time
  30. 1:51but it was very fruitful
  31. 1:54and documenting this journey is always good
  32. 1:59as we spoke on entrepreneurship as well as podcasting
  33. 2:05and even did a podcasting opportunity
  34. 2:08as some money was given away.
  35. 2:12And shout outs to Brandon Gates for that.
  36. 2:15Like that's just so honorable,
  37. 2:18encouraging the young students,
  38. 2:21the youth, the next generation,
  39. 2:24help propel them to feel their entrepreneur journey,
  40. 2:29their podcast and media journey,
  41. 2:32content creation journey.
  42. 2:35We taught them a little bit about business and marketing
  43. 2:39as well as the basic of podcast
  44. 2:43and how to make money from podcast.
  45. 2:47So it was very fruitful.
  46. 2:49When we had like 30, 35 minutes with the students,
  47. 2:55some time was cut off,
  48. 2:56but we made the most out of it.
  49. 2:59We got the most out of it
  50. 3:01and we're gonna keep it going.
  51. 3:03You know, we're gonna put together some programs,
  52. 3:07especially for the afterschool programs
  53. 3:10to see what we can do to help
  54. 3:12and push the entrepreneurship ballot,
  55. 3:17especially in Cleveland, Ohio.
  56. 3:19It's critical, it's major, it's important.
  57. 3:23It's purposeful, it's needed.
  58. 3:27And we got a tour of Euclid High School.
  59. 3:33Shout outs to Euclid High School again.
  60. 3:36Just showing us some of the programs they have,
  61. 3:39how we could be involved
  62. 3:41and what the students are doing.
  63. 3:44Like from robotics to culinary arts,
  64. 3:47they have chefs and the students work with the chefs
  65. 3:52selling meals at the school, culinary meals at the school.
  66. 3:56I think it was about like $16, $17 for a plate.
  67. 4:00It was like, wow, it's amazing.
  68. 4:02I'm gonna have to come here for lunch a couple days,
  69. 4:05couple times.
  70. 4:07So it's amazing.
  71. 4:09Robotics, like I said, culinary arts,
  72. 4:13music production, music recording.
  73. 4:15I got studio at the school podcasting,
  74. 4:21which we spoke on entrepreneurship,
  75. 4:25so many different programs.
  76. 4:27Like I had a fraction of this when I was growing up
  77. 4:31or at the schools that I attended.
  78. 4:34So it's amazing to see and amazing to hear
  79. 4:37what the different schools have going on,
  80. 4:40just opportunities these schools have going on.
  81. 4:43So again, shout outs to Euclid High School.
  82. 4:48We appreciate you for letting us in your doors,
  83. 4:51treating us well, welcoming us,
  84. 4:54encouraging us to give some great insights
  85. 4:58to the students, also encouraging them,
  86. 5:02motivating them, showing them
  87. 5:03that there is opportunities
  88. 5:05that they can take in entrepreneurship,
  89. 5:09being what they wanna be and also podcasting,
  90. 5:12if that's their route.
  91. 5:13But even if they don't,
  92. 5:16they still know how to set up one
  93. 5:18or how to be on another person's podcast
  94. 5:21to help promote their business.
  95. 5:24But the most important thing podcasting
  96. 5:27is a marketing vehicle for your business.
  97. 5:31Like alienized photos, media is my business.
  98. 5:36Alienized photos industry talk
  99. 5:38is the marketing arm of my business.
  100. 5:42And that's the main reason I started the podcast
  101. 5:44and also expand my network
  102. 5:48and show off my network with different guests
  103. 5:50as we kind of create master classes
  104. 5:53through our conversation.
  105. 5:55So it was very important.
  106. 6:00And my solo episodes,
  107. 6:01I could make it very salesy and preachy.
  108. 6:05I haven't, I haven't yet, maybe one day,
  109. 6:08but right now it's just, you know, free game,
  110. 6:12as you could say, or many will call it.
  111. 6:15So take the free game,
  112. 6:18but you got to start somewhere.
  113. 6:20You always got to give back.
  114. 6:21And this is my give back,
  115. 6:23as well as me marketing myself in exchange for that.
  116. 6:27You know, help me to help me to help you.
  117. 6:33You know, I got to help myself first,
  118. 6:34got to help my business first.
  119. 6:36I got to get it out here
  120. 6:37and I felt podcasting is the best way,
  121. 6:41the best method to do that.
  122. 6:43You know, I'm always in a car driving like I am now,
  123. 6:47but I'm able to record audio.
  124. 6:49I'm not heavy on video, but with audio,
  125. 6:52I feel like I can do it almost any and anywhere.
  126. 6:56You know, I can find a quiet place,
  127. 6:57you know, plug my mics into my phone and hit record.
  128. 7:02So that's been working for me.
  129. 7:04So audio, podcasting works for me.
  130. 7:09I know sometimes I will incorporate video
  131. 7:11or have some video clips,
  132. 7:14but I'm not big on it,
  133. 7:16especially right now in this moment.
  134. 7:19But as I continue to grow out and continue to get funding
  135. 7:22and continue to have more time to sit down
  136. 7:25and actually spend time in front of the camera,
  137. 7:28well polish productions, I would do that.
  138. 7:32But right now, straight audio,
  139. 7:35find so many audio episodes.
  140. 7:38You can find 50 plus in this current day.
  141. 7:41It's December, 2025.
  142. 7:45So, you know, I'm not stopping.
  143. 7:48I hit a thousand,
  144. 7:50whether that's solo episodes
  145. 7:52or a combination with solo episodes with guests
  146. 7:58or even, you know, live interviews at conferences.
  147. 8:03A thousand, I promise.
  148. 8:05I stop until I reach a thousand.
  149. 8:08Even after I hit a thousand,
  150. 8:09I'm probably gonna still be going.
  151. 8:13But I may be compelled to move in another direction.
  152. 8:18You know, maybe my photography business is thriving
  153. 8:22where I really don't have much time
  154. 8:24for the podcast anymore.
  155. 8:26So, you know, anything can happen,
  156. 8:28but I promised myself a thousand episodes.
  157. 8:31So, I'm promising you all a thousand episodes,
  158. 8:34a thousand educational episodes,
  159. 8:39inspirational episodes, motivational episodes,
  160. 8:43mindset, perspective episodes
  161. 8:46that you could take in, digest.
  162. 8:48But most of my solo episodes
  163. 8:51is definitely 30 minutes or less.
  164. 8:54You know, I aim for the 23 mark,
  165. 8:57you know, the old school TV shows.
  166. 8:59Most of my old heads know,
  167. 9:01you know, the 23 minute programs on TV.
  168. 9:06You know, that's counted commercials.
  169. 9:08That's how you get your like 28 to 30 minute TV shows.
  170. 9:13But most of it is about 22 to 23 minutes
  171. 9:18if you watch a lot of old school sitcoms
  172. 9:21like Martin, Fresh Prince,
  173. 9:24and then your favorite cartoons.
  174. 9:28It's 20 to about 25 minutes.
  175. 9:34Cause they got to have, you know,
  176. 9:36the shows paid for and everything paid for.
  177. 9:39They got to make money.
  178. 9:40So they run ads and you see that a lot on YouTube,
  179. 9:45which we kind of told the students
  180. 9:47about how to generate money from YouTube is through ads.
  181. 9:51But you have to have a certain number of subscribers,
  182. 9:56a certain number of views,
  183. 9:58a certain number of watch hours,
  184. 10:01and you know, just teaching them
  185. 10:02and walking through them in the process
  186. 10:06and how the Pull Up Experience podcast
  187. 10:10has met all those requirements on YouTube
  188. 10:14and is able to be monetized.
  189. 10:18And you know, we're still strategizing our method
  190. 10:22because we don't want to run a lot of ads
  191. 10:25or the ads that we do,
  192. 10:26we want to film ourself and place them in episodes,
  193. 10:31but a lot of outside, you know, pre-recorded ads.
  194. 10:36That's something we're kind of talking through.
  195. 10:39But we also want to offer this for free,
  196. 10:43but we also don't want to keep, you know,
  197. 10:46working at a discounted price or for free.
  198. 10:50You know, we're going to need monies to sustain ourselves.
  199. 10:52We have family, we have little children,
  200. 10:55and some of us older children.
  201. 10:58Like I said, we have our family,
  202. 11:00we have our businesses,
  203. 11:01we got to take care of ourselves,
  204. 11:02our wellbeing, our health.
  205. 11:04So if you want more of us, then kind of pitch in,
  206. 11:09you know, see how you can help out,
  207. 11:12maybe get us funding, maybe just pay us directly.
  208. 11:16But, you know, we're here, we're here living on a purpose
  209. 11:20and we want to do more of it, but you know,
  210. 11:23we do what we can, but we got to have a balance.
  211. 11:31And that's what we teach entrepreneurs
  212. 11:33to have that balance.
  213. 11:35Like, yeah, we do free work all the time.
  214. 11:38A lot of times we say yes a lot.
  215. 11:42And this is one of the opportunities we say yes,
  216. 11:46mainly for Brandon, but, you know,
  217. 11:49we opened it up to the team, came out, you know,
  218. 11:53just for moral support and also to document the moment,
  219. 11:57end up giving a few words.
  220. 11:59So it's always good to have that support
  221. 12:02and that support system
  222. 12:04and just be ready for opportunities.
  223. 12:07Yeah, that's my spiel.
  224. 12:09And again, thank you, Euclid High School
  225. 12:12over in Euclid, Ohio, right outside of Cleveland, Ohio.
  226. 12:17Well, I still call it Cleveland, but Euclid, Ohio.
  227. 12:22Think it's the Panthers.
  228. 12:24Don't beat me up if it's not.
  229. 12:26But yeah, shout out to the Panthers,
  230. 12:28Euclid High School.
  231. 12:30All right, y'all.

  234. 12:38bringing you the marketing arm.
  235. 12:43Alienize Photos in the talk podcast.
  236. 12:48It's gonna be much bigger than that
  237. 12:50as I continue to build this out
  238. 12:53and have more education
  239. 12:55and build it to an educational platform.
  240. 12:59Yeah, so stay tuned for that and some e-books.
  241. 13:02I got the 10-day social media sabbatical.
  242. 13:07I did a 10-day fast with all social media,
  243. 13:10even YouTube, if you look at it as a social media.
  244. 13:14I did not use none of it, rarely was on my phone.
  245. 13:18Ended up going 10 and a half, almost 11 days.
  246. 13:21So I beat my 10-day sabbatical away from social media.
  247. 13:26And yeah, it felt good.
  248. 13:28I got a lot accomplished.
  249. 13:29I document it each day.
  250. 13:31So go check out that series.
  251. 13:3310-day social media sabbatical,
  252. 13:36day one through 11, 11 days to recap.
  253. 13:39If you don't wanna listen to all of them,
  254. 13:41I encourage you to listen to the recap
  255. 13:43as you will get some nuggets
  256. 13:45and summarize versions of the episode.
  257. 13:50So look out for that in the e-book
  258. 13:52and I'm gonna have a course around it as well.
  259. 13:56But if you wanna book me for event photography
  260. 13:59or photography in general,
  261. 14:02but event photography is my specialty
  262. 14:04as well as video production and podcast productions
  263. 14:08on behind the scenes.
  264. 14:11Or if you want coaching,
  265. 14:13either or to book me as a photographer
  266. 14:16or both to help you with coaching,
  267. 14:19marketing, ideation,
  268. 14:20to help build out your blueprint for your business.
