- 0:01Walk on, walk on, walk on, walk on back to alien eyes, photos, industry talk, and this
- 0:15will be my personal journal of my personal journey.
- 0:23And let's dig into my weekly habits.
- 0:28Now, some of the weekly habits return into daily habits, but to be at your maximum level,
- 0:37at your maximum capabilities, at your maximum focus, you want to be hyper focused with things
- 0:44you have to do and get done and executed.
- 0:49Like, I do not do anything outside of my calendar, which is on my schedule.
- 0:54If it's not on the calendar, I'm most likely not doing it.
- 0:58I'm not going to do it.
- 1:00I like to pre-plan and plan ahead, know what my days and weeks are looking like,
- 1:07even my whole month, and that trickles into the year.
- 1:12Sometimes I'm not going to know what the whole year entails as I leave some gaps and some
- 1:18openings, but I like to know how my week is going to flow, how my days are going to be.
- 1:25Now, I love my sleep, and as a person that loves sleep, I really don't get much sleep,
- 1:33many hours.
- 1:34I average about four and a half, maybe five hours a day, but some of those days,
- 1:42it really be two hours.
- 1:44So I'm making up with other days with, you know, six and seven hours of rest
- 1:50of a good night's sleep.
- 1:53But I've also worked third shift, so, you know, my sleep schedule is kind of everywhere,
- 2:03which I can say is a bad thing.
- 2:08Running the business, have children, you know, also with my nephew,
- 2:16daughter, and in the relationship, director, producer of another podcast outside of my own,
- 2:31The Pull Up Experience, Vice President of Launch Arts Media, the main photographer,
- 2:40the event photography brand, Alien Eyes Photos Media.
- 2:47And this is Alien Eyes Photos industry talk, by the way, if you may not know.
- 2:54So doing all these things, giving my attention and focus and energy to all these things and
- 3:03showing up, I mean, constantly showing up and never giving up, and also other people.
- 3:11Like, I just came back from supporting my brother,
- 3:18De La Maze, as he completed a hundred stages and a hundred days.
- 3:25In a hundred days, he completed performing on a hundred different stages of venues.
- 3:33That is amazing.
- 3:34A hundred stages, a hundred days.
- 3:36And salute to De La Maze.
- 3:40It was an incredible performance for his grand finale, the hundredth day.
- 3:45A hundred days, that is amazing.
- 3:48Consistency, performing, doing what you love,
- 3:51doing what you're good at, passionate about, what you care about,
- 3:55and treating it as a movement.
- 3:57And that movement turns to bigger business.
- 4:00And I already told him we have to talk and discuss some things,
- 4:04because I have some things up my sleeves.
- 4:07Also, being a former musician and artist, performing artist, also recording artist, poet,
- 4:15songwriter, book writer, author, all this stuff.
- 4:20I know how you take this to a whole other level.
- 4:24And me being big in marketing, I just see so much and know so much.
- 4:31I'm like, yeah, let's strategize.
- 4:34Let's bang plans.
- 4:35Let's go to the drawing table.
- 4:38It will be needed.
- 4:40I know it will, because we're both intellectual creatives.
- 4:51Everybody loves AI, but intellectual creatives that I see, that is amazing.
- 5:03Intellectual creatives.
- 5:06Yes.
- 5:09So I want to start with, when I wake up each day, I take that time for myself,
- 5:22you know, gather my thoughts.
- 5:24I like to slowly ease into my day.
- 5:27I don't like a hundred things early in the day,
- 5:31powered up with chaos, me waking up to chaos.
- 5:34I like to take that time or that moment to myself, the moments to myself.
- 5:40I'm able to get more rest.
- 5:42I try to get more rest because I know there will be days that I won't get a lot of rest.
- 5:49So I get as much rest as I can, but I also don't be lazy and lollygag.
- 5:57If I need to take some time to myself, sometimes I cut into my sleeping time
- 6:05and take that time for myself.
- 6:07If I know I'm not going to have any time for myself the rest of the day,
- 6:13then I will wake up a little earlier and take that time, get my mental together,
- 6:18look over my schedule, look over my things to do.
- 6:21I like to keep my to-do list five things or under.
- 6:27I don't do more than five things a day because I don't want to get burnt out,
- 6:32overload.
- 6:33Do I do six, seven, eight, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven things in one day?
- 6:42Yes, or even more sometimes, but I try to focus most of my days on five things or less.
- 6:51If I'm filming a podcast and doing a photo shoot, have a podcast interview,
- 6:57I may just leave it at that because that is a lot
- 6:59because I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to also go to work or get my daughter
- 7:06and her being in school, she has homework and checking that, looking over that,
- 7:12helping her with that, like reading books before she go to bed and that takes time.
- 7:20So there's also so much I do outside of the other things, outside of business.
- 7:28My personal life, but I schedule my me time, my personal time,
- 7:38and that could be where it's self-development, like waking up and journaling,
- 7:43getting my thoughts out, getting that release, getting that freedom,
- 7:48taking different thoughts and reconstructing them like, wow,
- 7:53let me get this plan out of my head, write it down,
- 7:56that way I can edit it and change it and morph it into the way I need it to be
- 8:03and to fully execute and dominate whatever I need to do.
- 8:09And the same with the book, you don't keep it all in your head, you write it,
- 8:13get a paper and pen, write it out, and then from the written transcription,
- 8:18type it out and continue to be edited from each process, from when you wrote it,
- 8:23edit it, type it, edit it, send it to an editor, get it edited again, checked over,
- 8:30beta readers, like there's processes, but you start with that idea and get that idea
- 8:37out of your head and write it. I like writing with pen and paper.
- 8:41I don't like pencils, nothing against pencils, but I love the fluidity of a pen,
- 8:47the flow of emotion, because I let my words just flow and glide through the pages,
- 8:55just like how I talk, it's the flow, it's the rhythm.
- 8:59I like gliding, something that's smooth, peaceful,
- 9:02and that's why I like pens over pencil and I also love pens and paper over,
- 9:11you know, typing on your phone. We always attach to these phones
- 9:15and that gives me time away from my phone, not having my head down, hurting my neck,
- 9:22being in my phone, being so much over and attached to technology,
- 9:29not on my laptop, not on my phone, nothing. Pen and paper, you and your thoughts,
- 9:37it's you and you at this point. You're the author of your life.
- 9:41Don't put it into a phone, put it on pen and paper and make it come to life.
- 9:46You are the life, be the life, act like you own your life.
- 9:52And that's what I do each week, each day. I go over my schedule,
- 9:59I work out once or twice a week, I may play a few hours of basketball,
- 10:05may do a home workout another day, then I'm also taking that recovery time,
- 10:14you know, warm Epsom salt baths because I just can't do the cold. I know there's a whole
- 10:19bunch of benefits to the cold and immersing yourself, your body in cold water, but no,
- 10:27that ain't for me. The ice and stuff, no. I love the warm water, I love relaxing, I love
- 10:34the warmth. Okay. So that's a little bit about me, my daily and weekly routines, some things
- 10:43that are effective to me. Like I do not encourage you to wake up to your messages, wake up to
- 10:54your emails, wake up to social media and all these phone calls. I do not encourage it,
- 11:03no. Take that first 30 minutes to hours of the day that you wake up to yourself.
- 11:14Take a 15, 20 minute shower just relaxing, fill in the water, hit your skin, you and your
- 11:23thoughts. I get some of my best thoughts when I'm in the shower. I wrote some of my greatest
- 11:28songs, my greatest hits in this shower when I was younger. Like the shower is amazing. I got
- 11:37some of my best thoughts and best visions for books and videos and content. Like, wow,
- 11:44that's a great business idea. This is a great product. Me being both a creative
- 11:50and an entrepreneur, creative entrepreneur, like man, my imagination is so wow and magical.
- 11:59And next day, intertwine it with business, put a business engine behind it. Oh my goodness,
- 12:04I am just getting started by the way. And it's amazing. But again, it's my kind of daily
- 12:15routine, weekly routine that works for me. Maybe in the future, I'll kind of break down
- 12:23my monthly routine, how I like to set up my months and also like my content calendar
- 12:30and the structure that I have behind like everything I do, also servicing clients
- 12:37and building a business and building a podcast and working with other podcasters
- 12:42and other organizations and collaborations. Like it's a lot, but I'm doing it.
- 12:50You could do it too. And this is not for the faint or the weak hearted. You have to put
- 12:57your all into this. It is a life decision. I know we make so many decisions a day,
- 13:07entrepreneurship, you're making so many decisions left and right. And me as a parent
- 13:13doing the same thing, making so many decisions. And you get decision fatigue and get burnt out
- 13:22with just making decisions, so many decisions. So that's why I limit my days to five things is
- 13:30I don't want to make a whole bunch of decisions in one day. I like to break it up.
- 13:36You know, deal with it later if I could, but if I do have to make a decision right then and there,
- 13:41I do. But we need to, again, take that time for ourselves and also reflect on it,
- 13:48reflect on our decisions before we even make a decision to take that time to ourselves.
- 13:55That is the biggest thing, self love, self peace, self gratitude, gratitude as a whole.
- 14:04You have to take that personal time for yourself. All right. This is Photographer Jackson,
